TroopMaster ReadME 02/01/08 The following supplements information provided in the PDF User's Manual: (1) If you are upgrading from an earlier version, be sure to read the "What's New in This Version" section of the User's Manual. The "What's New" section of the manual only describes the more significant enhancements, but you can't take advantage of them if you don't know that they're there. If you were using the distributed database feature in TroopMaster 2000 or newer and any of your satellites are currently distributed, please exit this installation and merge your satellites. Your existing data files cannot be converted to the new formats if any satellites are currently distributed. (2) We now have two exciting add-on products available for TroopMaster. "TM-Traveler" is a PDA-based program that lets you take your most frequently used data to meetings, camps, etc., and make updates. It's available for both the Palm and the Pocket PC. We also have a "TroopMaster DotNET" add-on that lets you centralize your unit database on an FTP site so that all unit leaders are working with the same data. For security purposes, this database is fully encrypted. For more information on these products, please visit the TroopMaster product page on our web site. (3) We are VERY much interested in user ideas and suggestions. This newest version of our popular TroopMaster software contains hundreds of user suggested improvements we received from users like yourself. If you have ideas on how we can further improve our software products, please let us know. Our Web Site (www.troopmaster.com) has a comments form that is ideal for this purpose, or you can e-mail us directly at (tsi@troopmaster.com). If you do not have access to an on-line service, please call or write to us at the address on your "Help > About" dialog.. We will periodically update TroopMaster with "bug" fixes and enhancements. When we do, we will make a free update "patch" available for registered users to download from our Web Site (www.troopmaster.com). You can tell whether or not you need a patch by comparing the version on your "Help>About" dialog to the version number (e.g., Version 4.00a, 4.01, etc.) of the update patch. If the version you're running is earlier than the version number of the patch, you should install the update. Major new versions will be announced on our web site. As long as your license remains current, you will be able to download the new version free of charge. If you also would like to get the new version on CD, you can do that for $5 plus shipping/handling (4) If you find any errors in this program, please report them. Our goal is a perfect piece of software!
